The Department for Constitutional Affairs was created on 12 June 2003. The Department is responsible for upholding justice, rights and democracy.
The Senior Courts Costs Office
The Senior Courts Costs Office deals with contested directions hearings and appeals on costs decisions.

Legal Ombudsman
Set up in 2010, the Legal Ombudsman has formal powers to resolve service complaints about the services provided by lawyers, including Costs Lawyers. The service to consumers is free.
Costs Lawyer Standards Board With effect from 31 October 2011 the CLSB became the Approved Regulator of Costs Lawyers under delegated authority of the ACL.
The Legal Services Board The Legal Services Board oversees the work of the CLSB to ensure all regulatory provisions are met pursuant to the Legal Services Act 2007 and other prevailing legislation.
